Author’s Note: Book 3 and a hiatus

Hello, lovely readers!

With the last post, the story of the Starwalker and her crew has reached the end of Book 3. At last! After three and a half years, the first major arc for the ship and her people is complete.

Phew. It’s time for this author to take a break, catch her breath, and celebrate reaching this milestone. There are a couple of other projects demanding my attention, so I’ll be taking the opportunity to catch up with them,* and possibly starting the process of collecting the Starwalker saga into books to be published.

But this isn’t the end! You may have noticed that I said ‘first’ up there, where I mentioned Starry’s story arc. Yes, this¬†will not be her only arc. I have more stories in mind for our¬†favourite huggable ship, starting with the tale of Starry, her sister, and the strange space station that watches over a black hole.

Before I delve into the next sequence, though, I will be taking a hiatus. I’m aiming to come back at the beginning of August, but I’ll post here every now and then to let you know what’s happening.* There’s also a slight chance of new Starwalker shorts! Don’t forget to check back every now and then for updates.

Rest well, my friends. Enjoy the break (I know I will!). Starry will be back in another story before you know it.

(* If you’re curious about my other work, or what I’ll be getting up to on my break from Starwalker, check out my writing blog.)

What do you think of this post?

Enjoy your time off. We’ll still be here.

We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

    Awww… :’(

Well, I had thought there would be at least another update (since you did not say anything about that being the last update in that book).

Ok, then enjoy your break and the coming wintertime.

I am sad for the book to end but looking forward to the next story arc. :D

(…and of course the possibility of books — be it e- or paper)

    .
PS: I tried to post this like 9 hrs ago but it did not let me :(

Take what ever time you need, as always we will be here.
I would happily add a copy of your story, either hard/softcover or E to my collection. Also, Starwalker shorts.. I would buy those.. along with one of the Starrie plushies that were batted around as an idea so long ago. ;)

    I agree, Marcus :)

…and yeah, I will be waiting here with the others for any update :D

I am just wondering when Starry will get her well-needed hug from Elliott in-story…

*hugs Starry since it will be a while until Elliott will find an immersion couch*

Francisco – thank you! :) You guys are awesome readers.

mjkj – yay! I’ll keep you all posted with how I go.

I think you may have been trying to post at the same time I was updating the posting template; I’ve added an extra check box to weed out spammers. Should be all good now! Sorry it was a pain.

Marcus – thank you, I appreciate it. :) I still hope to do the Starwalker plushies… it’s on my list of things to sort out. I’ll let you know!

mjkj – it’s okay, she’s got hugs from you guys during the interim. ;) She’s a lucky ship!

Also, there is a post about the completion of Book 3 over on my writing blog, with additional musings and such. In case you guys are interested! :)

  7. Medic Says:

Rest well Mel. (couldn’t resist). See you on the flip side!

    Thanks, Medic! :)

  9. mjkj Says:

    Thank you, Melanie.

Yeah, I have already read that. :)

Yes, that might have been it. Or somehow my work-computer does not like your sites…

(…because I tried to post this post yesterday and earlier today also and it did not work either)

Hmm, interesting, mjkj. I’ll have a look into it and see if there’s anything I can do on my end. I was hoping to do some back-end work on this site during the break anyway. :)

  11. mjkj Says:

Well, as I said it might be the IT from my work that is acting up (let’s see if this will post).

Mel, I thought I should tell you. I used your style of writing when creating a character bio. The link will take you to my guild’s website. If it doesn’t take you directly to the post, go into the forums, character backgrounds, and look for Kennayil topic. Or you can try to click here.

I started off using quotes for every conversation, but I got tired of losing track of what was conversation and what was just scenery.

Anyone else checking it out, if you play on the same server, then drop me a line and tell me what you think. Please do not respond to the stories in the background forum.

    O_o it’s August
    Yay it’s nearly Wednesday
Hurrah for the possibility of moar stories

Medic – thanks for letting me know! Glad to hear you think it’s a useful format. :) I had a read of your background, and it’s interesting stuff!

    Kunama – it’s Wednesday! Yay!
