Author’s Note: Low

Hi everyone. Sorry for the late notice, but it looks like this week has defeated me (mostly, I’m not well). The post is not ready, and you all deserve something better than a half-baked attempt, especially as it’s getting into the last phase of this particular storyline.

I apologise for the delay. You are all wonderful with your support and patience, and I must ask you for just a little more.

In possibly-related news, I’m pondering some options for what I could do for you all, once we get to the end of Book 4. A little thank you for bearing with me through this difficult year. I’m hoping to do something good for you, be it a short or a fragment of something.

Any requests? What would you like to see?

What do you think of this post?

Ouch! Hope you feel better soon!

Hmmm a little something extra? You gave a us little backstories for Rosie & Elliot awhile back. Throughout the story we’ve picked up bits about the Captain’s backstory.

So how about a backstory for Cameron?

  2. Osolodo Says:

I hope you get better soon.

What about a back/side story for the bots?
I know they didn’t develop a personality before they came under Starry’s influence but I’m sure there’s something entertaining in their past, and if there isn’t I think we would all enjoy some “Tales from the ducts”.

Thanks for the update. I was getting a little worried and started thinking something wicked this way comes but that is just my paranoid side taking advantage of me.

A back-story with some lovely segues would be great.

Adding in my two bits for you to get better, as said before take what time you need, we will be here lurking in the darkness of the interwebs.
Something extra? Half-baked… Ooo.. How about cookies? Wait… no.. that wouldn’t work.
I like Oslodo’s idea, something from Bit and Byte’s tiny perspective would be fun to read.

First and foremost, get healthy, Kay?

How about a backstory on our favorite engineer?

  6. Syphax Says:

I believe in you. I can’t think of a chapter I haven’t enjoyed to date.

I like Mike’s suggestion, we don’t have much of Cameron besides the fact that she’s ex-military.

You guys are awesome. I feel like I don’t say that enough. <3

Wow. Okay! Lots of things here. I love that you guys like the shorts. For reference, I've put up a ‘Works in Progress’ page over on my writing blog that I’ve got the shorts listed on (done vs to-do). (I put that up recently – didn’t realise it would come in handy so quickly!)

Elliott I can do! His piece is actually mostly written (I work on this stuff when I have spare moments, so it’s slow going and I haven’t looked at it in a while).

I’ve got an idea or two for Cameron’s piece. Just need to flesh them out and then, obviously, write it. But I’ll put that next in the list (the list on the linked page is in no particular order, btw).

Bit and Byte! That’s one that wasn’t on my list. Which is fine; I’m happy to add more. I shall put them into the idea percolator and see what happens.

As it happens, I was pondering trying to do ‘tweets from a Starwalker drone’ a while ago. That was Waldo, rather than the little ones. I just need to build up enough material to keep it going for a little while. I’ve got a start around here somewhere…

PS: you guys are awesome. <3

Concentrate on getting well. We’ll still be here when you get back.

Me? I’d like more of Lang Lang’s story.

  9. Kenneth Says:

Wow, just wow. I started reading Starwalker recently, and this is my first chance to comment. I wanted to say thank you for the amazing work you’ve done, and for sharing it with us πŸ˜€

*Provides an extra hug for anyone that needs it*

  10. Melanie Says:

Thanks, Francisco. Lang Lang moved further up the list! πŸ™‚

Hi and welcome, Kenneth! Aw, you’re very welcome. Glad you’re reading. Lots of hugs all around!

    *HUGS*

    Hope you’re feeling better!

While I do like my original suggestion of a Cameron backstory a story of Bit & Byte perspective would be very cool too πŸ™‚

Get healthy first though, that’s most important!
